With a population of 1.32 billion people, there is a huge opportunity to provide quality and affordable healthcare using technological advancement, especially with the rapid rise of mobile and internet penetration. The country’s government is taking steps to address widespread diseases and treatment outreach, and the healthcare landscape has been influenced by the needs of patients requiring specific treatments and individualisation, resulting in a tremendous growth of health innovators and startups.
“As an organisation that is dedicated to keeping a pulse on what’s next for the future of digital health, HealthXL views India as an emerging market rife with potential,” said Martin Kelly, CEO of HealthXL. “We are excited to bring our next Global Gathering event to Mumbai and drive international attention for the powerful healthcare conversations and innovations coming out of this geography specifically.”
During the Global Gathering, a group of industry experts and visionaries will be discussing some of the key topics in India’s digital health space today and their future potential; these include:
- Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD): Chronic Disease Management in India’s Digital Era – As the contribution of NCDs to death and disability in India continues to grow and affect health and the economy, this session will highlight what initiatives are in place for the prevention and management of NCDs, and how technology has digitally strengthened the country as a whole.
- Patient Centricity: How India is Making the Patient it’s Most Important Customer – Panelists will address how various stakeholders are utilising patient data more effectively for better R&D, diagnosis and monitoring. The session will also overview how India is enhancing patient engagement/experience to make patients active participants in all care-related decisions.
- Big Data to Improve Patient Outcomes – In a society such as India that has a large population outside of healthcare and where resources are limited, data plays a vital role, and the opportunity for big data is fairly diverse, consisting of providers, health insurance companies, researchers, pharma and medical device R&D.
