Ageing in Place for Older Adults that Need Daily Assistance

11th May 2021 @ 10:30AM EDT

Ageing in place can be challenging, especially when we need daily assistance for activities like bathing, dressing and preparing meals. This becomes harder when someone has a chronic disease that requires daily management (e.g., COPD, diabetes). Loneliness and social isolation also has also become a challenge for many older people. How can we leverage digital health to ensure we all can thrive as we age? What are the available solutions? These tech solutions are often not affordable for older people, so who is paying for it? Considering the number of older adults is projected to double to 1.5 billion in 2050, how will the digital health market evolve to cover these?

This meeting is the 1st session of a series of events focused on digital health for ageing in place. In this first part, we will focus on older adults that need daily assistance (i.e bathing, eating, moving around, chronic disease management, etc): current gaps, available digital health solutions and who is paying for these.
